The Manager for FMC Inpatient Pharmacy, in Partnership with the Director and Operations Managers, is accountable for leadership of staff and for participating in strategic planning that allows for Pharmacist and pharmaceutical care process integration in patient care areas; identifying budget requirements (human, material and capital resources) to safely meet department and patient needs; managing of expenditures and variance analysis; establishing and maintaining standards of practice; hiring; and managing
performance; creating and sustaining a healthy work environment, including handling Workplace Health and Safety issues; maintaining collaborative working relationships with all stakeholders; and facilitating the implementation of changes to structure and processes in order to accomplish improved outcomes in patient satisfaction, quality of care and cost containment.
Salary/Benefits: This position is classified as a M2-1. Minimum $85,500.00 to maximum $128,500.00 annually.
Graduate of a recognized program of pharmacy with a Baccalaureate of Science in Pharmacy.
Licensed as a Pharmacist or eligible for licensure within Alberta.
Completion of a pharmacy residency or advanced degree preferred.
Further education/training in project management, management administration, or experience in related fields are assets.
Five years hospital pharmacy experience.
Computer literacy required, including word processing, spreadsheet, database technology, specialized pharmacy applications and project management.
Previous supervisory/management experience in related field are assets.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills. Self-directed and highly motivated.
Analytical, organizational, planning, teaching, decision making and financial management skills.
Ability to function effectively in dynamic situations.
