The successful candidate will take ownership for providing financial support to the Maple Leaf Metals scrap business. This includes the production of monthly financial and management accounts, budgets and forecasts and ensuring strong financial controls and processes operate throughout the business.
A university degree and professional accountant designation plus 5 to 7 years of related experience are needed, Ideally in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
Candidates must possess strong communication skills, self motivation and an enthusiastic attitude.
Responsibilities:
Supervise the Accounting staff and ensuring month end results and analysisÂ’ are prepared in a timely and accurate manner
Preparation and reporting of business budgets and forecasts
Managing cash flow and working cross functionally in order to champion commercial initiatives
Supervise Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Cashier roles
Assist operations to evaluate and implement business opportunities and process improvements
Maintain positive employee relations with staff personnel, through the prompt handling of employee concerns and the administering of positive personnel policies and practices
Liaise with sales, production departments to provide timely, accurate financial analysis to help in either as hoc optimization studies or ongoing margin analysis by product line
