The role of the Web Development Manager is to manage a group of analysts and developers in building and maintaining the Company’s web applications. This includes the selection of Web applications’ hardware and software platforms, developing site navigation, and designing an application framework. This individual is sometimes responsible for creating original Web site content. Exceptional knowledge of various Web development languages is required.
Primary Responsibilities
Manage and lead the Web Development Team.
Track and evaluate new standards, technologies and trends in Web architecture, development, design, and delivery.
Hires, fires, reviews, schedules and trains developers & analysts.
Select and implement the appropriate tools, software, applications, and systems to support web technology goals.
Collaborate with analysts/developers and business unit leaders for all projects involving web applications.
Liaise with vendors and service providers to select the products or services that best meet company goals.
Ensure a consistent look and feel across the Web sites, applications, intranets, and extranets by developing and promoting a uniform Web branding strategy in collaboration with marketing department.
Collaborate with Web developers in the development and integration of graphical and multimedia components into Web sites and other Web applications.
Identify, recommend, and prioritize new Web features and applications in conjunction with business leaders and department managers.
Create and develop transaction-based e-commerce solutions for business-to-business and business-to-consumer applications.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements
Excellent written, oral, communication and interpersonal skills
Meet or exceed on time delivery the Web development schedule as per the annual project schedule list
Excellent knowledge of object-oriented programming languages, including ASP.net, C#, JavaScript, etc.
Vast experience in gathering and analyzing business requirements in order to meet strategic goals and development efforts
Project management methodology skills required
Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
Highly self motivated and directed
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Very strong customer service orientation
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
Minimum of ten (10) years of prior experience in business applications development
At least five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience as a lead and management of projects to implement develop and maintain business applications
