Position Status: Temporary Fulltime until November 2012
Location: 575 West 8th Avenue, Vancouver, BC
Days/Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 0730-1530
Hourly rate: $21.59
Provides administrative support for procurement of equipment, supplies and services, working closely with other clerks and buyers, assists departments and programs with their purchasing needs, processes requisitions and disbursements, orders supplies, equipment and services utilizing computerized materials management systems and software applications in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures. As well, this position is responsible for a variety of administrative functions such as intermediate word processing of technical and non-technical materials, spreadsheet and database duties, filing and records management.
Qualifications:
Education, Training & Experience:
Grade 12 supplemented by accounting courses and three years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to type at 45 w.p.m.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
