My client is a privately owned company that has been in operations since the early 1940?s. Operations include eight sawmill complexes which manufactures lumber for domestic and export markets. They are one of the largest lumber producers in North America based in the United States . The export division serves overseas markets, while the import division brings quality imported wood products to its domestic customers. At this time they are in need to hire a Panel Sales & Traffic Assistant (head administrative support role) on a full time permanent basis in their Richmond , BC Office.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to;
Enter & edit panel sales & purchase orders in the Lumber Track system for Canada Sales Team
Evaluate & document sales order and invoicing procedures for improved efficiency
Coordinate order tallies and shipments with outside mills, trace shipments with communication to customer contact as appropriate
Reconcile outside panel inventory locations and resolve any discrepancies
Assemble documents and forward them to customers via email, fax, or other electronic communication methods
Use panel team calendar in order to provide support to customers
Perform receptionist duties for sales floor as required
Take overflow calls for panel traders
Prioritize & keep panel traders and team lead up to date on daily issues, resolve routine matters
Develop excel databases using the LTS system as the source data in order to track panel product trends in US & Canada
Work to insure that administration and panel sales support expectations are met
Assist within the department to review processing flow and metrics for continuous improvement
Provide assistance to the team lead with overflow duties
Back up Import Sales Assistant
Evaluate & document sales order and invoicing procedures for improved efficiency
A successful candidate will have the following qualifications;
Preference will be given to candidates that offer panel/forestry/lumber experience
Adminstrative work experience
Strong working knowledge of Windows, MS Word, Excel 2007, Outlook, 10-key
Strong data entry skills
A high level of skill using excel database features
College Degree/Diploma in Business Administration preferred
Knowledge of panel industry preferred (lumber or forestry experience)
Proven customer service skills and related verbal & written communication skills
Attention to detail with excellent problem solving skills, high degree of accuracy and efficiency
