Community Operations, Ministry of Justice, has a challenging opportunity in Regina for a mature, highly motivated, responsible, team-oriented individual. Your primary goal will be to manage and oversee the day to day operations of the Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods Program South (SCAN). You will also work closely with a multitude of law enforcement and other stakeholder agencies.
Reporting to the Director of Community Operations and working closely with the SCAN Director North you will manage the SCAN South program ensuring its seamless and effective operation and delivery within Community Operations and the province as whole. As the SCAN Director South you will draw on your extensive experience as a peace officer both as an investigator and manager in a varied and specialized police environment involving, amongst other things, drug investigations, gangs/organized crime, sex trade, to fill the director's role while providing professional support and advice to all stakeholders associated to the program.
You will possess a strong working knowledge of
The Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods Act
and Regulations along with other Acts and Regulations that fall within the Community Operations mandate. You will also have a strong tactical and Public and Police Safety background and will utilize these qualities and qualifications to develop and ensure the appropriate work specific operational safety standards and training practices are applied and maintained.
Working conditions include working solely in a law enforcement environment while interacting and working amongst a dedicated criminal element and dysfunctional and dependant persons who pose a variety of challenges including high risk or violence and health issues. As part of your daily work schedule you will travel extensively provincially and inter-provincially often on short notice.
