Duties
Develop new techniques and processes to solve visual effect production challenges;
Innovate and solve artistic technical issues for tool development used in game production, in order to improve work processes;
Work efficiently with programming staff while representing the artistic side;
Research an innovative a visual and technical point of view in dealing with processes and pipeline creation;
Document processes and procedures thoroughly;
Push and redefine systems and art limitations for the project;
Work closely with the technical director in order to rectify mistakes and evaluate new tools;
Interact and communicate effectively with project managers on the studio projects.
Required Experience and Qualifications
Experience & Qualifications
College or university diploma in 2D and 3D Srt or equivalent training;
Intermediate Technical Artist: 3 to 5 years experience as a real time 3D Artist (Level Artist, Model Artist, Texturer);
Senior Technical Artist: 5+ year of industry experience as a real time 3D Artist (Level Artist, Model Artist, Texturer);
Technical Skills
Support and troubleshoot in game development for : Maya or Max (Mel Script); Engine (CDC) & Game GUI (Engine GUI);
In-depth knowledge of trades related to video game production;
In-depth knowledge of the technical constraints of engines and different game platforms;
Knowledge of 2D and 3D design softwares;
Knowledge of database systems (ex : Perforce, VSS, Alienbrain);
Knowledge of Script language;
