Assistant Credit Manager 263
STAR Credit Recruitment - Surrey, BC
We have an excellent opportunity for an assistant credit manager to join
a leading consumer goods (FMCG) business. The role has been created due
to the launch of an innovative online product for consumers, which is
expected to stimulate considerable growth in revenue.
The
assistant credit manager will be responsible for managing a team of 8
staff (1 team leader, 4 credit controllers and 3 new credit account administrators).
The job will have a dual focus 1) ensure smooth running of the new direct-to-consumer
ledger 2) manage a portion of the traditional business to business foodservice
sales ledger.
Your
credit accounts admin team will receive new account applications, credit
check customers with Experian, open all new accounts, establish customer
account credit limits, and liaise with the bank to resolve any problems
in setting up direct debits or recurring credit card payments.
Three
members of your credit control team will be concerned with collecting
aged debt from traditional business accounts, and one person will be responsible
for reducing accumulated debt & query resolution (e.g. caused by failed
direct debits) on the consumer ledger.
Key
challenges for the assistant credit manager:
To
assist with the smooth migration of consumers to the new system of automated
direct debit payments
Tackling high aged debt levels accumulated by some customers due to
inadequacies in the old system
Supporting, training and developing the credit control and admin team
Reviewing and agreeing increases to credit limits in consumer credit
accounts
Applying your knowledge of consumer credit law and experience in consumer
credit operations to spot and prevent fraudulent activity - e.g. multiple
credit accounts linked to one address
NB -
Since a main feature of the new business service is the opening of credit
accounts for consumers who apply online, we are particularly interested
in speaking to credit managers / senior credit controllers with knowledge
and experience of:
Consumer
Credit law / Consumer Credit Act
Risk management in consumer credit operations
Business to consumer credit control & collections
Establishing
and running consumer credit operations
Scope
of the role:Currently 100,000 people are registered with the online service,
with 60,000 people ordering every week and paying by direct debit or recurring
credit card. There is considerable growth potential with the aim to migrate
a million more offline customers on to the online service. There is an
effective systematic process already set up to handle these transaction
volumes. The traditional B2B ledger of foodservice customers numbers around
900 accounts.
