The Manulife Bank & Trust Mortgage Services Department is seeking a strong leader with banking experience for a full-time position as Supervisor, Mortgage Services . Reporting to the Manager, Mortgage Services, the Supervisor is accountable for the day-to-day operations of multiple functions across two geographical locations (Waterloo and Halifax) within the Mortgage Services department. This team is responsible for administering and processing Manulife One, Select and Preferred Rate Mortgage products.
Responsibilities:
Manage and provide support to a team of Mortgage Administrators and Senior Mortgage Administrators (over 10 direct reports) working out of two geographical locations;
Effectively and efficiently manage the day-to-day operations of the team by providing leadership and complex mortgage knowledge to staff;
Handle escalated issues while monitoring volumes and re-distribute workloads to ensure service levels are met;
Provide feedback on performance and development opportunities by creating a development plan for staff;
Maintain a high level of staff performance through recruiting, coaching, mentoring, and offering team building opportunities to staff members;
Ensure that audit/compliance procedures are in place and are adhered to by staff;
Provide Operational Support by identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities in streamlining workflows;
Manage service agreements with 3rd party vendors.
Manage relationships with internal and external business partners
Qualifications
2-3 years in a previous supervisory experience;
Experience managing in a production environment is an asset
In-depth knowledge of the residential mortgage rules and regulations;
Knowledge of Title Insurance, Discharge and Funding processes
Ability to understand and interpret mortgage legal documents
Knowledge of real estate law is an asset;
Experience with mortgage underwriting is an asset;
Working knowledge of CPA and Bank Act regulations;
Sound knowledge of Word, Excel and Lotus Notes;
General banking knowledge a definite asset;
Bilingual French oral and written skills are an asset.
