Our client requires the services of a Middleware Administrator on their IT Team. The position is responsible for performing upgrades, maintenance, and support for portfolio of tools and products including but not limited to Websphere Application Server, Websphere Portal, and WCM - all used to deploy and support their CRS application environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform application installation, configuration, maintenance, upgrades, and support.
• Monitor applications by developing and deploying JMX extensions and other tools.
• Work with System Administrator to monitor performance and perform tuning.
• Develop disaster recovery planning by building and testing DR processes with Application teams.
• Deploy and support production application environments.
• Provide 24x7 support as required including responding to incidents and requests and troubleshooting reported issues.
• Perform application level backup and recovery.
• Develop and maintain technical specifications and documentation in support of functional and technical requirements for all completed projects.
• Contribute to the development plans to cover system implementation from development to production.
• Collaborate with application developers and system administrators to implement system changes ensuring appropriate change management policies to protect production environments.
• Work with development team to build automated deployment processes using Maven, or Ant and Cruise control.
• Develop an understanding of the core business applications to service user and application requirements.
• Provide support for various project phases such as development, testing, and production as required.
• Participate as technical resource, supporting system implementation, administration and configuration activities with project teams, and other technical specialists.
• Participates in planning sessions and provides recommendations relating to enterprise level software and hardware acquisitions and deployments.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:
A bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science or related field. Three years experience administering, configuring and supporting enterprise portal applications. At least three years experience working with IBM WebSphere Application Server, IBM Portal, IBM Web Content Management and collaboration tools such as Microsoft SharePoint. Strong experience with Java based middle ware including but not limited to; release management, configuring of collaboration and portal tools and installing new portlets . Experience with Java, JEE, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML. Experience with Disaster Recover / High Availability solutions . Keep up to date with latest trends in technology, and a bility to conduct research on emerging technologies, standards, and products as required. Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast paced environment, possessing a 360 degree view of technical problems and customers' needs. Ability to meet deadlines.
