Honeywell is looking for a Field Service Specialist to join their Sherwood Park/Edmonton Team.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Maintain and troubleshoot Honeywell TDC/ TPS and PKS, DCS equipment
- Implement and Admin TPS & EPKS Domains, controllers, switches, peripherals, etc
- Support Honeywell FTE, and Microsoft Technologies
- Troubleshoot, repair, system problems using standard test equipment and hand tools
- Support client server architecture
- Perform upgrades on both hardware and software
- Assist clients with third party vendor communication to our systems
- Administer preventive maintenance on controls systems
- Support Power to equipment such as motors, transformers, breakers and relay's
- Observe function of installed equipment or system to detect hazards
- Repair and troubleshoot control and signal circuits and identify discrepancies
- Program code logic and troubleshoot existing code
- Support and troubleshoot LAN / WAN communications
- Provide power on support of new and existing installations including grounding checks and proper application
- Document electrical and process drawings (P&IDs, Interconnect, Panel, etc.)
- Perform audits and baselines of installed systems as a deliverable as well as for migrations and trouble shooting
Basic Qualifications:
- BS Degree or Technical Diploma in relevant field or equivalent experience with strong electronics background or;
- 2 years DCS experience with no degree or;
- 2 years of controls systems experience (Honeywell control systems a plus) or;
- 2 years PC/Networking experience or;
- 2 years Field Process experience
Preferred Knowledge and skills:
- PKS Experion Hardware & Software, Hiway, TDC, TPS including LCN, UCN and Hiway equipment
- PC & Networking Skills
- The ability to work with electronic test equipment
- The ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools
- The ability to assimilate data quickly, resourceful, and work well in an unstructured situation
- Capable of meeting customers’ demands while working on multiple projects with various deadlines
- Comfortable with being the lead support person on site in a power and petro-chemical plant work environment
- Ability to accurately document work performed
- Able to respond to emergency calls and resolve them within the guidelines that meet or exceed our contract customer expectations and requirements
