Your primary responsibilities will include:
As an Audit Senior / Chartered Accountant, you will join a general practice team and will participate in all aspects of client service including assurance, accounting and tax. At Collins Barrow Calgary you will have the opportunity to:
Work on files from start to finish;
Be exposed to a variety of industries; and,
Provide services directly to our mid-market clients. These are similar to client examples used in CASB modules.
Your responsibilities may also include preparing working paper files; drafting and reviewing financial statements; drafting reports to udit committees and/or board of directors; preparing journal entries; preparing corporate tax returns; and, conducting research on professional and technical matters.
A successful candidate will have:
Successful candidates will have a solid foundation of knowledge and work experience in the following areas:
Accounting and audit standards and general tax knowledge;
Canadian GAAP, IFRS and/or ASPE; and,
Complex accounting calculations including: depletion, depreciation; stock based compensation; current and future income taxes and asset retirement obligations.
In addition, we are seeking candidates who possess solid organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to juggle multiple priorities and effective communication skills as these skills will contribute to success in this role. Preference will be given to candidates who have oil & gas, technology and/or real estate industry experience and who have written or are about to write the 2011 Uniform Final Exam (UFE).
