Junior System Administrator (Information Services) – HyLife Foods

The Information Services team at HyLife Foods is seeking a new team member to join our system administration group. The ideal candidate would possess strong technical skills, the ability to work in a dynamic manufacturing environment, and a strong customer service focus complemented by a willingness to learn. Reporting to the Director, Information Services, this role provides operational support of our information systems in a manufacturing environment.
Provide first-level support to office and plant floor computer users. Includes the following
Basic computer, printer and network usage. Includes logging in, accessing network resources, email and Microsoft Office.
Application usage, including usage of packaged and custom applications in use at HyLife Foods.
Ensure that end users are updated regarding the status of outstanding support requests, including approach and time to resolve.
Escalate support requests as needed to the appropriate IS resource.
User training for basic usage and line of business applications.
Provide first-level support for plant floor production and inventory systems, including system troubleshooting on the plant floor.
Assist the System Administrators with infrastructure management. This includes server and network deployment, upgrades and configuration changes.
Collaborate with, support, and provide coverage for other roles within the IS department as needed.
Provide support for early shift startup and late shift completion on a rotating schedule.
Key skills & experience
2-3 years computer and applications support experience. Must be able to support common computer applications include Microsoft Outlook and Office.
Strong technical aptitude, include fault isolation and problem solving.
Customer service focus. Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prioritize, working independently and in a team environment
Demonstrated ability to learn. Willing and able to learn new tools and procedures, via both self-directed learning and learning from other team members.
Familiarity with a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with HyLife Foods business operation is ideal.
