SENIOR GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER

Klohn Crippen Berger Ltd. (KCB) Toronto operation requires a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to support the substantial growth of our Mining Environmental Group across Canada, Australia, the Pacific and South East Asia. We have world class projects underway in Northern Ontario and overseas that require the additional support of an experienced industry professional. Our Geotechnical engineers work in areas of sub-surface investigations, mine tailings and waste rock disposal, water management and foundation engineering.
We are looking for a technical leader who has experience working in multi-disciplinary project teams, managing projects, mentoring and training staff, sustaining excellent client relationships and further developing the business. As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will join a dynamic company of motivated and hardworking professionals committed to delivering high quality engineering and environmental services.
As a follow-on to the design, construction and commissioning of their award winning water management structures for a large urban tailings disposal facility, KCB is currently engineering major improvement works for about 20 dam projects in Canada, Europe and Africa. You will be involved in the engineering of facilities to allow mine closure and promote reclamation as well as waste management and environmental assessment for new mine developments.
This senior role will give you the opportunity to:
fill a senior technical role focused on tailings storage design, dam design and related mine engineering and operations for projects in Northern Ontario and worldwide, most of which are in extremely challenging environments in remote and logistically challenging locations
m anage and execute projects, including time and budget management and quality control, deliver projects successfully and be accountable for project planning and direction
p repare and review technical reports, drawings, specifications, bill of quantities, and cost estimates
s ustain client relationships and develop new business
s upervise, train and mentor junior staff
jo in a dynamic company of motivated and hardworking professionals committed to delivering high quality engineering and environmental services
travel domestically, internationally, and occasionally to remote and varying environments, sometimes with limited communications and logistical support
If you have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or Geological Engineering, are registered or able to register as a Professional Engineer in Ontario or related designation, and have at least 7 years of relevant experience in earth dams, water management and tailings, we want to hear from you.

good contract administration and excellent record of project management on projects of varied scope
proficiency with engineering modeling programs, site investigations and characterization, slope stability and seepage analytical software
demonstrated ability to lead technical teams, providing project strategy and direction to the team and client
strong decision-making and interpersonal skills; and ability to work with a team of professionals
excellent verbal and written English communication skills
