Overview:
Cenovus is currently seeking Geophysical Acquisition Field Supervisors (Service Provider) for our upcoming Fall & Winter season: (approximately September 2012 to March 2013)
This is a field position that will require you to travel and work, in remote areas, on a rotational basis (1 day mobe, 22 days work,1 day demobe and 4 days off).
We are seeking someone who is a Team Player, competent and knowledgeable of all Geophysical Acquisition Operational phases.
Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for the daily project management, coordination, monitoring, QCing and advisement on active Cenovus seismic programs to head office from a remote field office
Liaison with government agencies and stakeholders
Ensure compliance with all associated government regulations and directives
Daily interaction with Cenovus HSE
Supervision of third party contractors
Interact daily and supervise Cenovus Geophysical Administrators to manage daily costs, budgets, dailies and provide forecasts to Calgary area coordinators
Attend any daily / weekly Cenovus on site meetings to insure on site needs and concerns of other Cenovus disciplines are addressed in a timely manner (Drilling, Completions, Operations, etc…)
Familiar and proficient at using hand held GPS equipment for scouting / troubleshooting
Ability to work day / night shifts as required by the project and within OH&S compliance
Monitor and capture daily activity, stats and comments on a daily Cenovus time sheet
Take ownership and accountability along with Cenovus Geophysical Calgary team on all projects
Qualifications:
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to the relevant requirements of the Cenovus Drug and Alcohol policy which includes pre-assignment testing
Knowledgeable in AB / SK geophysical exploration regulations
Familiar and responsible to follow the OH&S Act Regulation and Code
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word)
Able to create a positive and professional working environment with peers, other contractors and vendors
Dependable and organized with excellent time management skills
Required Documentation: Must be set up as an Incorporation (ie: Ltd. or Inc. company) and have Canadian GST registration
Insurance: Commercial General Liability ($5MM), Automobile ($2MM) & WCB in good standing
Required Equipment:
Laptop Computer, with Scanner / Copier / Printer and M/Soft Office software
Personal Cell or Smart Phone
4 X 4 Truck (No older than 5 Years)
4 X 4 Quad / ATV / UTV (No older than 7 Years)
Hand Held GPS unit, including software
Licensed Radio unit complete with Seismic channels, Antennae Whips
Applicable PPE (example: Hard Hat, Safety Glasses, Safety Vest, etc…)
Validation of Current Certification(s):
Standard First Aid (with CPR endorsement)
H2S Alive (Enform Certification Only)
Ground Disturbance Level II
TDG
WHIMS
SFOS (Seismic Field Operations Supervisor)
Drug and Alcohol testing by Verifications Canada
Member in good standing with the C.A.G..C.
Valid ATV certification
Valid Class 5 Drivers License Cenovus Energy - 12 months ago
