PURPOSE OF JOB:
Champion the institutions vision of being "The Leader in Client Relationships" by: understanding, staying abreast of and communicating internally changes in clients' industries, businesses and objectives; identifying potential new client accounts and either directly contacting these clients or ensuring that contact is made by appropriate Commercial Banking staff or partners internally; proactively identifying opportunities that allow clients to respond to changing circumstances within their business or industry; establishing and maintaining internal network of contacts and partners; mobilizing all resources of the organization to have clients achieve their goals and maximize the returns available to our institution. Our Relationship Managers are located in regionally based centers across Canada, ensuring first hand knowledge of local market conditions.

Job Description:
MAJOR ACTIVITIES:
Actively monitor and manage the profitability of relationship with clients within the context of building a long-term mutually beneficial relationship by fully understanding the goals, objectives and status of the client's business.

Originate new client relationships that leverage knowledge and expertise, capabilities and that meet institutions risk tolerances and profitability hurdles, to grow the Commercial Banking business.

Provide active leadership and guidance to Senior Managers, Managers and Associates in executing and managing the credit product and client relationships. Viewed as a leader amongst employees in effectively mobilizing internal teams. Take an inclusive approach to client relationships, by coordinating team members and product subject matter experts and facilitating client focused "brainstorming" sessions and Client Review meeting. Mentor, train and coach team members.

Structure, negotiate and document credit and cash management arrangements with clients and prospects. Negotiate all terms of credit with Wholesale Credit and Investment, Risk Management ("WCIRM") and appropriately assess risk in the relationship. Act as the Transaction Sponsor within our group. In conjunction with Cash Management, ensure that all documentation is accurately captured and up-to-date.

Proactively manage high-risk loans, developing risk issues and changing credit needs through communication with WCRIM and other internal partners to restructure deals, remediate risks and minimize loss.

Sponsor and optimize the use of the Bank's capital within client relationships to minimize risk and loan losses. Develop and execute RAROC action plans to Sponsor credit transactions at Deals Committee.

Manage all dealings internally and with clients in a manner consistent with the standards prescribed by organization's policies and procedures, including Reputation and Legal Risk, Anti-Money Laundering, Code of Conduct, Credit Management, etc.
