Technical Recruiter

General Dynamics Canada is currently seeking a Recruiter to join the HR team. This person will be responsible for all types of hiring including Internal, External, Co-op Students and Contractors. The successful candidate should be interested in working in a fast paced environment with multiple priorities and responsibilities to manage. The successful candidate should also be willing to work autonomously and will be expected to lead recruiting initiatives as required. This person will be responsible for supporting the recruiting needs for all the different business areas across Canada. They are also responsible for managing our set of preferred agencies.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the HR Manager, responsibilities will include the following:

Manage recruitment process; from posting, to interview, to offer

Manage the co-op recruitment program

Manage the preferred agencies Permanent Placement Process

Coordinate the contractor process; assign reqs to agencies, monitor submissions, set up and run interviews

Define and lead recruitment strategies to attract top talent

Assist with all internal staffing needs as required

Work with HR Advisors and managers to determine recruiting needs for Ottawa, Halifax and Calgary

Identify, manage and monitor candidate sourcing channels

Source candidates externally using various outlets and contact to determine interest in applying for our roles

Review applications (internally and externally) and provide managers with top candidates to review

Provided input to all recruitment tools

Promote and develop, in collaboration with Communications, General Dynamics Canada as an employer of choice

Establish and report on recruitment metrics

Build candidate pools in anticipation of forecasted requirements

Attend career fairs as required and represent General Dynamics Canada

Complete all related administrative duties, I.e., interview scheduling, reference checking, offer letters etc

All other duties as required

REQUIRED SKILLS

Above average communication and interpersonal skills

Communicate professionally, confidentially, tactfully and with the utmost diplomacy at all times, treating all candidates with dignity and respect.

Good time management skills

Ability to prioritize and multitask

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

University degree or college diploma, with major in Human Resources, or equivalent working experience

3 - 5 years of recruiting experience, with demonstrated ability to plan and execute large hiring initiatives

Marketing background would be considered an asset

Advanced knowledge of Word and Excel

Experience building and managing candidate pools in anticipation of business needs.
