As a key member of the executive management team, the VP Finance & Administration will assume a strategic role in the overall management of the Company. The VP Finance & Administration will take responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the Company. This will include responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, costing, legal, IT, and general administration. The VP Finance & Administration will be actively involved in designing, implementing and reporting on financial controls, as well as reporting regulatory and statutory matters to the Audit Committees and the Board of Directors of the company

Responsibilities:
Direct and oversee all aspects of the finance and accounting functions of the organization.

Provide timely and accurate financial and operational information to the CEO and other executives to support strategic planning.

Provide leadership in the development and ongoing evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.

Ensure timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts.

Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives so as to identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions.

Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities.

Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.

Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (GAAP and/or IFRS) and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.

Ensure financial reporting meets regulatory and stock exchange requirements.

Liaise with external auditors, audit committee, and tax authorities.

Prepare internal financial reports, including operating budgets, cash flow, financial statements, operational metrics and variance analysis reports for the management team and Board.

Prepare external financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.

Primary liaison to external counsel with respect to intellectual property licensing (inbound and outbound), non-disclosure agreements, etc.

Administer company’s stock option plan.

Act as company’s Privacy Officer.

Manage the company’s Information Technology (IT) department, including providing guidance to IT Manager on strategic direction of the company and impact on IT requirements.

Manage the company’s space requirements, including negotiation of lease.

Ensure timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts.

Key Requirements:
A recognized professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA), or MBA.

Minimum of ten years of experience within the technology sector preferably as a VP Finance or CFO.

Demonstrated extensive background in the financial area including financial analysis, financial reporting, asset/liability management and portfolio management.

Strong communication and presentation skills to present complex information in a way that can be understood.

Provide strong corporate management competencies.

Strong team player with excellent ethics and verifiable track record of success in a growth environment.
