OVERVIEW

Corner Brook Pulp and Paper Limited is a multi-union company that employs approximately 775 people in three divisions (Mill, Woodlands, and Deer Lake Power).

We are seeking a senior level Human Resources Manager to join and be a key player of our management team. The HR Manager will lead HR related processes and programs, as well as acting as a senior level advisor on HR issues for other managers and employees in the three divisions. The incumbent will also drive and lead all HR related changes to support the continuous improvement of CBPP results, in alignment with HR strategy and practices of the Publication Papers Division.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead HR related operations and processes, including key changes initiatives.

Provide support to managers of the different divisions, in meeting its business goals and objectives.

Manage all aspects of labour relations and collective agreement.

Develop, implement and monitor health and safety programs.

Analyze and plan for workforce present and future requirements.

Lead and provide guidance on recruitment and selection of employees.

Coordinate and provide information on compensation and benefits.

Responsible for the local deployment of various company-wide HR programs, such as health and safety, individual performance management, people reviews and succession planning.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 15 years of relevant HR experience.

Extended experience in labour relations experience with senior level decision-making responsibility in a unionized, heavy industrial environment.

Experience in assessing organizational needs for staffing and resource allocation.

Solid track record in implementing and managing organizational changes

Experience in developing and implementing effective HR programs and services that align with Company’s culture.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS AND PROFILE

Bachelor’s degree in HR or related discipline; CHRP designation preferred.

Recognized to have excellent personal leadership skills

Sound conflict resolution and negotiation skills

Outstanding communication skills (written and oral)

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Ability to maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders

Strong organizational skills with the ability to be self-directed.

Strong analytical skills

Ability to establish and shift priorities

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other systems

Knowledge and experience with JD Edwards, Taleo and ETWeb would be additional assets
