We are looking for an energetic and highly motivated senior leader for our Health, Safety, Security and Environment Departments in the following position:

Director of HSSE

Responsibilities:
To provide leadership and direction in the areas of Health, Safety, Security and Environment for our 3 railways in Canada and the United States.

Responsible for reporting on safety performance in the above areas as well as all programs and initiatives in providing a world class safety culture.

Support your team of safety professionals in maintaining and evolving the safety management systems, regulatory programs and company policies; ensuring compliance by all employees, Foremen, Supervisors and Management.

As a part of the Senior Management Team, you will be responsible to lead all HSSE discussions within our company and our Transportation & Logistics Division.

You will be the primary contact for all regulatory bodies in Canada and the United States.

Education Requirements – Knowledge & Skills:
Post secondary education and 5-10 years of leadership experience in a Safety role is essential.

Experience in the Railroad Industry and a keen understanding of HSSE regulations and standards is an asset.

Must possess excellent communication and negotiation skills with a focus on providing a well maintained safety culture.

The ability to lead a team with mutual respect, teamwork, continuous improvement mindset and a passion for Safety.

The ability to develop, motivate, and foster positive relationships with your team, other Supervisors/Managers and our customers.

Individuals should be well organized, with a proven ability to manage deadlines and priorities.

Computer Skills; including MS Office, Outlook, etc. are essential.
