We are seeking a

Technical Support Analyst

to provide technical support in the areas of infrastructure, telecommunication, LAN/PC/Small Systems, ensuring People, Service and Efficiency value commitments are maximized. The incumbent will also support the efficient implementation of new technology and technological change, while ensuring minimal disruption to client service and quality.

Job Accountabilities:
Ø Responsible for all aspects of LAN and Network administration.

Ø Responsible for trouble shooting and resolution of all PC and network outages.

Ø Provide backup for all local telecommunication requirements.

Ø In conjunction with Head Office Depts., maintain up to date and accurate infrastructure plans of the site (network, switches, routers, controllers, cabling).

Ø Provide technical support to all projects (local and national), pre and post implementation.

Ø Perform imaging of Corporate and Production PCs, and PC/application specific configurations and setup.

Ø Effectively liaison with CNS Helpdesk, Head Office Technical Support Groups, Department Managers, and Vendors.

Ø Implement and raise Change Records (Service Centre).

Ø Provide backup for logical security systems and issues.

Ø Ensure equipment functionality and maximum utilization along with daily tape backup of critical systems.

Ø Identify, investigate and recommend improvements/new technologies; implementing best practices and innovative technologies.

Ø Responsible to ensure that all system standards and integrity is maintained.

Ø Problem management and issue resolution.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:
Ø Minimum of one to two years experience in a comparable Technical Support role.

Ø College or University degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science.

Ø

Courses in Implementation and Administration of Win2000, XP, Novell an asset.

Ø Good knowledge of PC hardware, software and networking. Knowledge of various operating systems including Windows XP, Novell, OS2, WARP 3+4, DOS.

Ø Demonstrated knowledge of network equipment and cable management as well as network protocols (TCP/IP, IPX, NETBIOS).

Ø Advanced Level MS Excel and Word, good working knowledge of MS Project.

Working knowledge of IBM 3890's and NCR 7780's with respect to how the peripheral PCs connect and relate to the hardware and applications.

Ø Normal working hours are day shift, however, provides support to a 24/7 operation.

Ø Some weekend work and/or shift work required (project implementations/system upgrades).

Ø Rotating cycle of on-call during non-working hours (rotates with other Tech Support individual).

Ø Flexibility in dealing with the wide variety and scope of change handled by this department.
