The Maintenance Manager is a key player on the senior management team, assisting in the establishment of maintenance, planning and reliability standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the Mill’s maintenance, mechanical, and electrical/instrumentation activities at Corner Brook Pulp and Paper.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Establish and support measurable Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the Mill. Develop, lead, and approve KPIs for his/her Departments, ensuring that the goals are measurable and achievable.
Plan, manage and evaluate the operation and activities in his/her respective areas of responsibility. Set maintenance priorities.
Coordinate maintenance and service activities with production departments, to obtain optimum production and utilization of manpower, machines and equipment.
Revise maintenance and services schedules and priorities, when required, to correlate with equipment efficiency and/or operating issues. Lead special projects, as required.
Review, analyze, and develop plans to optimize production, quality control, maintenance and operational reports.
Develop, support, and control the maintenance & services and cost budgets, making certain that the budget is respected and all attempts are made to achieve/surpass it.
Develop and implement strategic plans for quality, productivity and energy efficiency improvements and efficiently utilize resources and materials.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical preferred).
Minimum of 10 years of work experience in the Pulp and Paper industry.
Minimum of 10 years experience with senior management responsibilities.
Progressive supervisory and management experience.
Aptitude to function as a Change Agent, to foster creativity and idea generation.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Ability to prioritize, plan, organize, and lead a large team.
Capacity to exercise problem solving techniques in the analysis of a problem.
Ability to assess and make decisions in urgent and demanding situations.
Proficient use of computers (ie. Microsoft Office).
Successful candidate will be required to submit a Certificate of Conduct from a local police agency or the RCMP before commencing employment.
