Vancouver Community College is seeking candidates to instruct on a term basis in the Medical Office Assistant Program. These term positions will run between approximately November 1, 2012 and April 30, 2013.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of eight years work experience in the program fields;
- BC Provincial Instructor's Diploma or equivalent, or willingness to complete the ID Program;
- Ability to effectively relate with a diverse adult student body and possess excellent oral and written English language skills;
- Teaching experience in the field of Medical Office Assistant Preferred;
- Solid knowledge base and teaching experience preferred in medical terminology;
- Solid knowledge base and teaching experience preferred in Windows NT, Cortez Peters keyboarding, MS Office (Word, Excel, Access and Outlook);
- Experience in establishing student practicums;
Excellent analytical, interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills;
- Ability to work well as a team member;
- Membership in a professional organization such as Medical Office Assistants' Association of BC would be an asset.
- Minimum of 5 years work experience in one of the following areas:
Pharmacology;
Medical Billing;
Clinical Procedures.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Preparation of lesson plans;
- Delivery of curriculum, several hours per day to a class of 20;
- Evaluation of student work for a class of 20;
- Maintenance of in class discipline and a proper learning environment;
- Development of some pieces of curriculum, and some assessment tools.
