The role of Media Assistant is to maintain and document the client’s media buys. The Media Assistant will also assist the Buyer in preparing data for the purchase and subsequent evaluation of campaigns.
This role requires you to work as part of an integrated buying team ensuring brilliant and flawless media executions for the assigned client accounts.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Enter general data into MBOX system
- Develop report writers and call up reports for MBOX system
- Assist in the preparation of client media billing estimates
- Deliver on-going maintenance of client media requirements
- Execute brand scheduling, re-scheduling and shifting/cancellations as required
- Check contracts for Media Buyer and/or Media Supervisor
- Input all contract numbers into computer system
- Maintain accurate computer inputting (station buys, bonus, pre-buy, post-buy analysis input)
- Monitor insertions, pre-emptions and process make goods (initially, just inputting make goods but eventually negotiating make goods under supervision of the Buyer and/or Supervisor)
- Maintain buying groups, media contracts and make good filing systems
- Ensure that authorization procedures for client purchases are followed
- Become proficient with computer programs and research systems/programs
- Assist in solving/clearing billing discrepancies/queries in a timely manner
- Attend media seminars and presentations as required
- Work with buyers in the actual buying process once appropriate training has occurred
- Communicate problem areas to the appropriate people
- Submit time sheets and expense reports in a timely manner
- Other duties as directed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post secondary education – University graduate or advertising/marketing College degree preferred
- Able to multi-task in fast paced environment
- Detailed, extremely accurate, and analytical
- Problem solving ability
- Strong organizational skills
- Self-motivated, hard working personality
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
- Able to follow instructions
- Works well with numbers
- Able to work both independently and in a group setting
- Strong knowledge of Excel and Word
- Protects the integrity and confidentiality of information
