JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Executive Director of Human Resources, this position is responsible for Compensation and Benefit programs and establishing effective HR Metrics. Specifically this includes job definition and job evaluation reviews, the administration of salary surveys, human resources information systems and the management of employee information. As part of the leadership team you will support HR best practices in a manner which aligns with our Strategic Objectives, Vision, Mission and Values.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
Demonstrated senior level human resources experience in Compensation, Benefits and HR technologies normally acquired through completed degree/certification or related education in human resources, combined with relevant management training and experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience leading staff and delivering results is a must.
Considerable knowledge and work experience in a senior compensation and/or benefits role including HR technologies/metrics. Sound knowledge with collective agreements, employment legislation (ESA), the Ontario Human Rights Code, AODA, contractual obligations, procurement practices, corporate policies and procedures and other relevant statutes.
Demonstrated ability to work strategically and effectively with operational management in identifying and meeting needs. Works collaboratively with other Human Resources managers to ensure that the activities and programs of the unit align with divisional strategies, mandate, and services. Ability to define and measure HR services and quantify ROI of various strategic initiatives.
Proven experience/credibility to provide consulting services to operational departments with respect to job design and structure. Technical competency to provide advice and consultation on strategic design approaches to compensation, benefits, and retirement policies and plans, as well as on strategies and programs for compensation, benefits, and retirement plans.
Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and communicate effectively at all organizational levels. Represents Human Resources Division at Senior Management Team, operational corporate committees, Council Committees, and Council meetings as required. Develops or directs the development of reports and presentations as required.
Demonstrated ability to manage vendors and external providers to increase efficiency and effectiveness of compensation, benefits, and employee records programs. Ability to manage and communicate/influence the integration of technologies and strategies toward continuous improvement solutions at all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated skill in implementing sustainable change. Ability to plan and organize work. Proven project management skills. Ability to monitor performance outcomes, hold self and others accountable.
