In this role, you will analyze customer specifications to prepare accurate quotations. Your keen attention to detail and experience within the new home building industry are keys to this role.
What you will do:
- Estimate for ready-to-move and custom-built homes
- Quantify and qualify material, labour and installation costs from drawings and specifications
- Maintain database for master models
- Collaborate with external stakeholders (contractors and suppliers) on material costing
- Provide take-offs for change orders
- Work closely with designers, construction managers and engineers
Must haves:
- Post-secondary education in design, drafting or engineering/architectural technology
- Demonstrated blueprint reading and estimation skills
- Experience in residential home building within an office environment
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and CAD programs
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to take ownership of work and work independently
