Position Overview

Parking and Transportation is currently seeking Part-time Traffic Officers .

Position Description

Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):
Interpret and enforce the Parking regulations in a fair and consistent manner
Issue infraction tickets for vehicles that violate the parking regulations on the University of Calgary campus
Assist with traffic control and Motor Assistance Program
Provide excellent customer service to the University community and the general public while carrying out regular duties
Cover some breaks and fill-in shifts in the Parking Kiosks
Provide assistance and directions to visitors, faculty, staff and students

Qualifications / Requirements:
Ability to use computerized equipment in an effective manner
Demonstrated basic mechanical abilities
Capable of walking for several hours per shift
Must be able to operate a University vehicle and have a valid Class 5 drivers license with less than 7 demerits (graduated and probationary licenses are not permitted); driver's abstract must be provided at time of hiring
Possess good customer service skills and are able to communicate effectively with
customers.
The hours of work may vary.
