Redwater Fertilizer Operations currently has an opening for an Instrumentation Engineering Technology summer student for a 4 month term, starting May 2013 at our Redwater Fertilizer Operations.

Here’s a sneak preview:
Assist in the production and/or review of Detailed Engineering packages for design of new and upgraded electrical equipment. Specific responsibilities include equipment specification, sizing, wiring, and configuration design, ensuring production of all associated documentation.
Provide support on the Instrument aspects of instrumentation and automation systems design and installation.
Provide support for management of change (M.O.C.) on Instrumentation aspects.
Provide trouble-shooting support to unit maintenance for equipment of all voltage levels.
Participate in development and review of electrical switching orders.
Lead continuous improvement of Instrumentation systems technology and standards, and the development of long-term maintenance plans.
The objective is to provide “real life” work experience to a student while accomplishing specific work results for the company.
Qualifications of the position include:
Preference will be given to those that have successful completion of 1st year of an Instrumentation Engineering Technology Diploma Program
An intention to continue post-secondary study upon the completion of summer work term.
Previous related work experience in an industrial setting is preferred.
Available to work May to August 2013.
Must be motivated and able to work in a team environment, exhibit strong decision-making and problem solving skills, and have sound written and verbal communication skills.
