For our client, a globally active mining consulting company, we are currently looking for Mining Consultants to join their team in Metro Vancouver (Toronto might also be an option). Ideally you have a mix of operations and consulting experience. Responsibilities may vary depending on candidate's experience, qualifications and desires as well as the different project scopes. We are looking for candidates on various levels with open-pit and/or underground experience with different minerals and metals.

Responsibilities

Conducting of studies of ore, mineral or coal deposits to assess the feasibility of mining operations

Determination of appropriate means of safely and efficiently mining deposits

Development and implementation of computer applications for mine and supportive structure design and mapping or for monitoring mine conditions

Advising on drilling and blasting methods for mining, construction or demolition

Design of shafts, ventilation and haulage systems

Planning and design or selection of mining equipment and machinery, and mineral treatment machinery and equipment

Planning and supervision of the development, operation and maintenance of mines

Preparation of operations and project estimates, schedules and reports

Supervision and co-ordination of the work of technicians, technologists, survey personnel and other engineers and scientists

Qualifications and required experience

Bachelor's Degree in Mine Engineering or related field

P.Eng. designation or in the process

3+ years related experience in mining design, construction, exploration, production, consulting

Experience in design, project management & planning, specification or technical writing, management and admin, HSE

Experience in designing mine shafts & hoists and mine ventilation as well as mining equipment, blasting and materials handling machinery

Knowledge of blasting and materials handling
