QUALIFICATIONS :
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.

Minimum of six months previous food services experience required.

Knowledge of dietary terminology an asset.

Ability to effectively:
a) perform routine repetitive activities

b) read, write legibly and follow oral and written instructions

c) relate on an interpersonal basis with others

d) perform standard operating procedures relative to the position

Ability to complete the position on a regular basis.

Physical health to meet the demands of walking, pushing/pulling, lifting and carrying.

Food Safe Handlers Certificate required.

This position is subject to a Criminal Record Check. The successful applicant will be responsible for any service charges incurred.

JOB SUMMARY

The incumbent is responsible for receiving trayed meals, moving trayed meals to designated areas, completing diet changes, tray retherm, tray delivery and pick up from units, delivery and monitoring of Unit Stock use, distribution of nourishments, and meals on wheels activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES :
Receives chilled trayed meals at receiving location upon delivery.

Porters chilled trays to retherm carts.

Loads trayed meals into appropriate retherm cart to begin cycle operation.

Completes required diet changes, prints CBORD reports and tray ticket changes as assigned.

Initiates and monitors the retherm cycle, and completes assigned records and audits.

Delivers ready to serve food trays to units and retrieves soiled trays from units after meal service.

Distributes appropriate nourishments throughout the facility.

Retrieves soiled meal trays from designated area and porters them back to receiving at designated times for return by truck to the RDF for washing.

Retherms and packages Meals on wheels for pick up by volunteers for delivery.

Issues, orders, receives and monitors ward stocks which includes completing an inventory using par stock level system for each unit, issuing inventory to units and maintaining records of issues, placing orders with RDF for unit stock replenishment and receiving and storing unit stock from RDF.

Keeps area clean and tidy, and performs cleaning duties as assigned.

Works in an efficient and neat manner.

Performs cleaning duties as required.

Communicates with the Diet Office and/or lead Hand if a delivery is late or there is another challenge impacting timely meal service.

Adheres to all safety and health regulations and demonstrates safe work practices.
