As a Pre-walk Specialist, you will play a critical role in identifying any risks prior to a reset execution by surveying existing components and architecture.
The overall job of the Pre-Walk Specialist is to take populated planograms and audit retail shelving locations (bays).
This consists of confirming existing bay components/measurements, identifying and recording components needed and verifying accuracy of store layout maps. Pre-Walk Specialists are responsible for completing their assigned tasks in a timely manner and meeting specific deadlines, while maintaining the highest level of accuracy and attention to detail. This is a daytime position and compensation will be earned as a flat rate, determined by store and bay count.
The Pre-Walk Specialist must be extremely punctual, organized, and must be able to perform repetitive tasks on a day-to-day basis. The Pre-Walk Specialist's role requires a strong understanding and comfort of computer navigation and use of various computer software programs. The Pre-Walk Specialist must be confident in their ability to gather and input accurate data, while performing quality-control checks to ensure 100% completion of their work.
Responsibilities Include:
§
Review of reset support tools and executive summaries prior to completing store visits
§
Audit retail shelving locations (bays) in Home Depot stores
§
Perform inventory counts on steel fixtures and millwork within a given selling area and comparing inventory against a predetermined planogram
§
Record details of a selling area, including shelf elevation heights, beam size, colours, electrical and plumbing obstructions, and vendor-supplied or store-built fixtures and millwork
§
On-time completion of detailed visit reports through an on-line reporting portal.
§
Identify missing components that will be required to complete a reset and report back any issues that may impact reset execution
§
Review the Reset "Scope of Work" with Home Depot Store Management or Consolidated Resets Captain
§
Maintain accurate notes and records of completed work in order to prevent revisiting the stores

Candidate Success Factors
§
Access to your own digital camera with the knowledge and experience to take and upload photos accurately
§
Strong computer knowledge/skills in Excel and Word and confidence to navigate client systems
§
Access to working high-speed internet to complete detailed pre-walk reports and upload photos online
§
Ability to perform
highly detailed tasks day-to-day while maintaining accurate notes and focus
§
Valid driver's license and exclusive access to a reliable vehicle during the day to travel to all scheduled stores
§
Strong planning and organizational skills
§
Excellent attention to detail
§
Self-starter with an ability to work independently
§
Ability to recognize errors and missing information in work
§
Ideally experience in a merchandising position and/or experience working directly for a big box multi-location retailer
Note: This is a position compensated by visit and schedule and scope of work will vary.
