Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Driver's Licence (Class 1 or A), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, Commercial Vehicle Operator's Registration (CVOR) Certificate
Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years
Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English
Type of Trucking and Equipment: Tractor-trailer
Type of Travel: Local, Provincial/territorial
Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Bill of lading, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Maintenance and repair reports, Trip reports, Accident or incident reports, Dangerous goods occurrence reports
Communication Equipment Experience: Cellular phone
Weight Handling: Not required
Specific Skills: Loading and unloading of goods, Receive and relay information to central dispatcher, Transport hazardous products or dangerous goods, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment, Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness, Perform emergency roadside repairs
Additional Skills: Owner-operator business skills
Security and Safety: Bondable, Criminal record check, Medical exam
Own Tools/Equipment: Tools, Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat
