Program Mgr, Operational Readiness & Integration

The Program Manager, Operational Readiness and Integration (ORI) will be responsible for leading and coordinating with cross functional teams to build and manage a suite of projects for ORI. The role will include managing, monitoring, risk analyzing, prioritizing and communicating of key operational requirements and project details to each functional area within the Operations Organization ensuring each functional group will be operationally ready for the project.
As a member of the Operational Readiness and Integration team within Asset Management the successful individual will be an integral part of the team responsible for ensuring Operations is ready to integrate, operate, maintain and support the portfolio of new assets being energized into the power system over the next several years.
Note: 2 full-time positions are available
Accountable to lead Projects and functional groups within Operations through the ORI process for identified capital projects to enable effective readiness within the Operations organization.
Act as the coordinator with AltaLink’s Project teams to gather data and provide ORI requirements and deliverables back to Project’s as required.
Facilitate each functional group in Operations (System Operations, Asset Management, Netcom, Operational Services, Security, Safety, Environment, PQ&EE, IT) in determining ORI requirements for the suite of projects assigned and manage the execution of those requirements.
Manage and lead the functional Operations teams, and the AltaLink project teams, on ORI project scopes, requirements, commitments, accountabilities, schedule, and budget.
Utilizing risk based decision making and engineering judgment, lead each functional group through prioritization of ORI activities to ensure high risk areas are managed and mitigated appropriately.
Act as a liaison between the Operational Readiness team and each functional group in operations to ensure requirements and processes are clear.
Manage in the completion and monitoring of Readiness progress, milestones, and decision making through dashboards, reports and presentations.
Chair Operational Readiness report and stage gate review meetings.
Development of measurement criteria to monitor and drive operational readiness within the organization
Participate in the development and implementation of processes within the organization, along with an evaluation for continuous improvement.
Other project assignments or support for team members as required.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, with P.Eng or actively pursuing their P.Eng, or Technologist Diploma in Electrical with RPT (Eng) status.
Qualifies for registration as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers, Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
Minimum of three years experience in a utility or energy infrastructure environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to work in a team environment, positively influence others, and develop strong internal and external relationships.
Strong people skills, with distinctive ability to influence people without authority or a direct reporting relationship
Must be able to facilitate teams to successful resolution of issues
Excellent analytical and risk assessment skills.
Previous Operational Readiness experience a strong asset.
Project Management experience a strong asset.
Demonstrated ability to take a leadership role and be a strong team player.
Strong written, reporting, graphical and oral presentation skills.
Excellent organizational and planning skills and ability to manage a wide variety of responsibilities simultaneously
Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
Advanced ability to use MS Office Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint applications, intermediate ability in SAP, Primavera, Visio, Adobe software and SharePoint is an asset.
Proven track record of good attendance and performance.
