Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager of Safety and Prevention, the Fire Safety Project Officer will be responsible for updating the Fire Safety Plans and Evacuation Maps for Capital Health. The Project Officer will also execute fire drills and provide fire extinguisher, fire warden, evacuation and other fire safety related training.
Qualifications
- Completion of Grade 12, plus relevant post secondary education (i.e. Fire Prevention/Safety Management)
- Qualified as a Fire Prevention officer / Inspector
- Fire Service instructor level 1, preferred
- A minimum of three (3) years related experience to compliment qualifications
- Ability to assess fire and safety deficiencies and identify corrective actions
- Strong Knowledge of the Fire Safety Act, the National Building and Fire Code and National Fire Protection Standards (NFPA).
- Demonstrated skills in report writing
- Demonstrated strong organizational and leadership skills with emphasis on decision making, problem solving, motivational and communication skills
- Demonstrated strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft office products
Hours of Work
- Two Short Assignment Part-time (.4) Positions; 30 hours bi-weekly
- Beginning September 12, 2012 with an expected end date of December 31, 2012
Salary
Program Admin Officer A:
$23.4081 - $26.5205 hourly
