Shaw Communications has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Performance Test Analyst in our Toronto office. We are seeking an innovative thinker who is positive, proactive and readily embraces change. The successful candidate will play a major role in the development and implementation of our load and performance strategy. Youll be responsible for developing and maintaining automated performance scripts and tools to support system performance testing for our products. You must have a desire/willingness to explore, troubleshoot and learn new skills/concepts/tools and be a self-starter.
Accountabilities/ Responsibilities
Implement the performance tests, roadmap and schedules with assistance from the Performance Test Lead and Test Managers
Apply ingenuity and knowledge of applicable industry practices in software programming to create fault-tolerant, highly reliable test architectures, scripts, test suites and processes
Assist with the specification and development of custom automated test harnesses where necessary
Assist, mentor and train other test team members to use and support performance testing and associated tools
Interface with development to identify opportunities for cooperative testing
Develop and implement test plans, test cases and test scripts to evaluate the software products against organizations standards and end user requirements
Deliver regular testing reports that detail the results found during testing
Keep abreast of technical and industry trends related to performance testing
Various other duties as required
Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
2 years experience in software development and software quality assurance with at least 1 year solid performance testing experience
Skilled in modern programming/test automation techniques and demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge to maximize business results and ROI
Experience with one or more of the following performance test tools: HP Load Runner, HP BAC, JMeter
Programming experience with one or more of the languages: C, C#, Java
Experience with at least one software scripting language such as JavaScript, Perl, Ruby etc.
Experience leveraging test automation for non-GUI based verifications and system manipulation such as starting/stopping services and verifying database content directly through SQL queries
Hands-on, in depth knowledge of software quality assurance/testing methodologies and practices including requirements traceability , test planning, design and execution, and defect management
Experience with Oracle and MSSQL Server database environments
Assertive self-starter with excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to handle several tasks efficiently

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
Experience with Agile an asset
Experience with Web Service Testing an asset
Experience with load and performance test tools and methodologies an asset
Knowledge of web application security and penetration test tools/techniques an asset
Knowledge of the telecommunications industry including cable, internet, telephony and wireless is an asset with experience in several of the following highly regarded:

Portals
Risk Management/assurance
