Sunnybrook Hospital seeks a Project Manager with experience in the health care sector, change management and project management on a temporary basis (to March 31, 2013) to work on specific health care system level transformation projects in collaboration with the Toronto Central LHIN (TCLHIN). The successful candidate for this unique opportunity will report to the CEO of Sunnybrook but will be located at the TC LHIN.
The TCLHIN's role is to work with the Ontario government, local health service providers, community agencies, residents and others to ensure a well coordinated system of health services. Accountability agreements between health care providers and LHINs, and between LHINs and government, ensure the responsible use of health care resources, and the sustainability of the health care system for generations to come.
Currently there are a number of initiatives in the Toronto Central LHIN that are intended to change the health care delivery system to enable the delivery of high quality, best practice care in a more cost effective manner. Sunnybrook is playing a leadership role and will work closely with the LHIN to implement many of these projects. The successful candidate will:
Manage the implementation of system transformation projects, involving many health service providers across the continuum from acute care, rehabilitation, complex continuing care and community and develop implementation frameworks and associated work plans.
Identify and propose mitigation for risks associated with implementation, as well as, design a metrics based program evaluation process.
Work with senior leaders across the system to facilitate change and develop communication materials to assist with change management
Develop system level reports and monitor financial impact for hospitals and CCAC's
The successful candidate will possess a master's in business administration, finance, health administration or have equivalent experience coupled with five plus years' related experience in health service provider operations including working in a health service provider organization. Additional position requirements include:
Experience in project and management, along with an in in-depth understanding of the Ontario health-care system, its stakeholders, programs and issues; and the role of the LHINs.
Demonstrated experience with operational or strategic decision-making related to program funding
A history of positive working relationships with health service providers with a proven ability to build and maintain strategic relations
Knowledge of performance management and evaluation techniques in the health sector related to financial, administrative and/or clinical performance.
Knowledge and experience in Rehabilitation (specifically Stroke, Hips and Knees) preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to work effectively with other managers and staff, and to liaise with colleagues across LHINs and with contacts in the ministry.
