BDO's National office, located in downtown Toronto, is looking for an experienced Software Support Specialist to join their team. In this role you are the single point of contact to end users for software, hardware, and network related issues. This includes installation and support of software, network monitoring, audio/video conferences, data backup/restore, printers, creation and maintenance of user accounts.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
Provides direct and remote desktop support to users via phone calls, emails,and tickets.
Promotes and ensures compliance with National standards throughout the Firm.
Installs and supports specific software applications such as Windows OS, Microsoft Office, Tax and Accounting applications, etc.
Active Directory administration including maintenance of users, computers, security and distribution objects.
Repairs and installs hardware such as desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
Configure & troubleshoot BlackBerry devices.
Ensure issues related to network bandwidth and connectivity are identified and addressed.
Setup and support conferences such as WebEx’s and video/audio conferences.
Daily maintenance of the mail filtering appliance.
Properly document issues/resolution of tickets received through the incident reporting system accurately and within the defined SLA.
Performs problem identification/diagnosis and escalates when appropriate.
Work with others in the IT Department to troubleshoot technology issues.
Professional Requirements:
College/University degree in Computer Information Systems or Computer Science preferred
Minimum 5-8 years IT helpdesk experience with similar job responsibilities
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Must be flexible to work shifts and overtime when required
Ability to travel to other offices in the GTA is required
