Senior Contracts Administrator

An outstanding opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and experienced professional to become part of our team based in Saskatoon, SK. Reporting to the Manager, Categories Management, this is an exciting opportunity for supporting the supply team in meeting the categories and contracts management needs of the Diamonds and Specialty Products (D&SP CSG). Responsibilities of this role include sourcing strategy development, implementation, tendering, negotiation and contract creation, execution and monitoring. This position will also facilitate the contract execution and administration process to ensure that it is in accordance with contractual requirements and meets key performance metrics.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety and environmental responsibility.
Ensure conformance with the BHP Billiton Charter, the BHP Billiton Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.
Contribute towards an effective sourcing strategy through cross functional data analysis ensuring supply effectiveness and competitiveness.
Maintain cost effectiveness of supply and minimize risk; track and monitor budget spend.
Apply guidelines for supplier selection and qualification; Lead negotiation effort with suppliers and create opportunities for effective relationships while pressing for safety, cost effectiveness and reliable delivery.
Coach and mentor less experienced team members.
Identify, develop and implement complex, multi-departmental Category strategies.
Lead the tendering process, lead or assist in negotiation and prepare contract documentation for large and strategic purchases.
Work closely with Contract Owners and other key stakeholders to ensure Category Management processes are implemented in timely fashion to meet business requirements.
Contract execution and administration process in accordance with contractual requirements.
Facilitate and resolve issues related to the managed goods and services supply contracts.
Provide post contract execution support to teams including assistance with dispute resolution, performance management, bonus and penalty provisions, contract extensions and terminations.
Maintain contract and procurement information and co-ordinate the execution and distribution of documents.
Key requirements:
The role requires a Bachelor's Degree in Administration, Management, Commerce, Law, Engineering or related discipline along with 6-8 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing / Category Management. Experience with IT (Hardware, Software procurement / development and Consulting) is preferred. Success in the role involves building alignment and driving towards success with a strong attention to detail. You are a team player who adapts to and identifies opportunities for change. Additionally you have a demonstrated track record of influencing and negotiation skills.
