Retail Store Associates
Ensure good customer service by maintaining store maintenance and cleanliness standards in a safe and efficient manner. Clearing Shopping carts from the parking lot and store perimeter, returning them to a safe storage location using Wal-Mart approved procedure. Removing shopping carts from cart corrals located on the parking lot and store perimeter and returning them to a safe store location. Recording the collection of shopping carts in the cart retrieval log, noting date, time, number of carts collected and the condition of the environment i.e. Snow covered lot, very windy etc. Ensure shopping carts are well stocked inside of the store. Wearing proper reflective vest during cart collection for visibility and safety. Respond promptly to carry out requests at satellite registers. Safely assist customers carry outs or carry ins. Verifying receipts to the merchandise purchased by customers when completing a carry out Odd jobs including but not limited to painting, small repairs, weed trimming, cleaning/replacing ceiling tiles as needed. Follow established company guidelines for: Cleaning and maintaining the restrooms Handling chemicals and following correct disposal procedures Use of power equipment including inspection report completion before use Within ladder safety guidelines, wiping down defusers and fresh air grades with a damp cloth a minimum twice a year or as required (in Vision Center Doctor's office, entrances, 1 Hr Photo, offices, and licensee areas) Replace damaged and worn ceiling tiles as required in 1 Hr Photo and offices within ladder safety guidelines Complete document sweep logs dry sweeps completed at least 4 times per day. Complete document sweep logs any other sweeping; vacuuming or moping that may be required. Clean and maintain store vestibules/entrances and exits, sidewalks, building and parking lot perimeter and Associate lounge areas. Communicate regularly with management team Maintain solution centre daily and provide communication to lead floor cleaner about supplies which may need to be ordered. Where applicable collect recyclable material as separate streams and ensure recycling guidelines are followed. Refill paper towel dispensers on the sales floor. Zoning the fixture room daily. Adhering to safety and emergency procedures. Ensuring Occupational Health and Safety Act guidelines are being followed properly for: Hazardous communications. Lockout/Tagout. Bloodborne pathogens. Maintaining clean space around the emergency eye wash area. Additional responsibilities may be assigned throughout the Store at anytime
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be able to count whole numbers and decimals, add subtract, multiply and divide and be able to use whole numbers and fractions Must be able to read, write and understand printed material and be able to communicate with both customers and other associates.
