Overview of Accountabilities
HR operations leader and business partner for FLS Canadian operations across multiple sites. Responsibilities include talent management, talent acquisition, manpower planning, employee relations, compensation, and training and development. Position reports to HR Director, End-User Sales with strong matrix relationships to other HRDs with Canadian operations
Objectives & Key Responsibilities
- Provide support as HR operations leader and business partner for all Canadian operations.
- Talent management, talent acquisition, manpower planning, employee relations, compensation, and training and development.
- Support headcount planning and reporting, including development, execution and training of field HR team on headcount plans and controls.
- Provide local program management for HR programs, including PMP/APR process, mid-year PMP process, succession planning and talent review process, employee engagement survey, and HR system implementations.
- Partner with C&B related to the implementation and execution of benefit and pay programs, including APR and AIP as well as special pay programs.
- Administer group health benefits, retirement plan and 3 payrolls for the region.
- Manages labour relations and contract administration in union locations, facilitating a partnership with the union committees, and participating in contract negotiations.
Qualifications
- University degree in Human Resources Management or a related field with focus on human resources, finance, economics, or liberal arts with focus on psychology. Master’s degree preferred.
- HR operations experience of 8+ years in a HR generalist role in a union environment, preferably gained in part in a manufacturing environment
- Exposure to and knowledge of Canadian-specific labour and employment practices/laws
- Commitment to developing and implementing best practices in HR and continuous improvement
- Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills, and strong analytical skills
- Ability to drive strategic initiatives while working “hands on” with responsibility for projects from inception to full execution
- Ability to develop effective working relationships at all levels within the business
- Team-player, with well-developed interpersonal skills, ability to coach, mentor, and develop leadership skills in the organization
- Skilled in use of MS Office, Excel, Lotus Notes and computerized HR systems
