Job Description
Technology Consulting
professionals are responsible for delivering technology innovation and providing the backbone of our systems integration business.
Infrastructure Consulting
professionals develop and deliver strategies and solutions for housing the computer systems and communications equipment -- including servers, databases, storage devices, infrastructure etc. -- that handle the data necessary for enterprise operations.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Driving, supervising and reviewing technology diagnosis and assessment activities
- Identifying opportunities for technology-related improvement based on benchmark data and doing high-level cost benefit analysis
- Developing a high level design which supports a robust technology solution, taking into account the user requirements, technical requirements, etc.
- Driving technology architecture and infrastructure design activities
- Reviewing and supervising design components
- Developing design and transition approaches
- Driving and supervising technology build, test and deployment activities
- Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and supporting application development
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years experience required in any of the below skills/areas or in General Infrastructure technologies or strategy
3+ Years Hardware Platform experience (Unix/Wintel - HP/Sun/IBM etc.)
3+ Years Operating Systems experience (Windows/Unix - All versions)
3+ Years experience with Application/Database rationalization design/implementation - includes application migration/consolidation and database rationalization experience.
3+ Years experience with Storage Technologies (SAN/NAS) including Hardware & Software (EMC/NetApp/Sun/IBM/HP etc.)
Datacenter/Server Operational Components experience an asset
Datacenter/Server Consolidation Project Experience an asset
Experience with virtualized environments (VMware, etc.)
Experience with back-up, archiving and vaulting (Symantec/Veritas Netbackup and all the associated hardware and networking related to back-up solutions).
Ability to translate technologies and create business cases
ITIL certification preferred
Minimum of a Bachelors Degree is required
Flexibility to travel up to 75%
