Claims Examiner
As a Claims Examiner, you will be responsible for examining litigations, independent and staff adjusted multi-line claims on behalf of Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company
Key Responsibilities
Examine Automobile/Property & Casualty claim files to ensure that investigation is complete & proper documents are included, in compliance with Company guidelines.
Review independent, Branch Office and Service Office adjusters reports, to ensure proper claims investigative, reporting, and settlement procedures are initiated and carried through.
Organize and maintain active files in proper order for examining and reserve review.
Negotiate settlement of claims, with insureds, claimants and plaintiff lawyers.
Provide direction to claims adjusters in handling of claims.
Help with conduction of audits on claim files.
Qualifications
Post secondary education is required.
Minimum of 3-5 years claims experience.
Experience in handling Automobile & Property (Personal & Commercial) as well as Casualty & Environmental claims.
The ability to assimilate and review reports in order to assess damages.
Strong technical and communication skills.
Must be self-motivated, team player, with a positive attitude and good organizational skills.
An understanding of provincial insurance legislation is an asset.
CIP/FCIP designation as asset.
