Clearwater’s Bedford, NS, office requires a full time, permanent, Business Systems Analyst . The expected start date for this position is fall 2012.
Reporting Structure:
The Business Systems Analyst will report directly to the Chief Information Officer.
Purpose of Position
The Business Systems Analyst is a member of the IS Implementation Services Team, and plays a key roll in the successful delivery of solutions to our internal business customers. In this role, the Business Systems Analyst works closely with internal business customers to partner with and understand their business processes and requirements, while also colaberating with the IS Applications Services Team and IS Computing Services Team to translate requirements into IS solutions that contribute towards improving business processes. The ideal candidate is an analytical, technical, and business minded individual with the attention to detail and organizational skills required to effectively balance multiple and changing priorities within a fast paced work environment.
Major Responsibilities:
Relationship management in support of business units
Document, analyze and interpret complex business policies and processes
Manage issues and risks related to requirements
Provide leadership and overall project coordination between all involved parties, using project management skills and techniques
Develop project objectives with customers, define scope and effort required to meet objectives
Define activities and sequences of events, manage resources committed to the project
Facilitate team building and communication
Monitor and coordinate change requests from the business
Perform ROI/ Payback analysis
Coordinate user acceptance testing and sign-off
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
3-5 years experience in a Business Analyst or Project Manager role with demonstrated success
Ability to build strong working relationships
Self starter with strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent interviewing skills
Ability to understand technical architechture concepts
Ability to understand data architechture concepts
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, and Visio)
Current knowledge with business best practice methods and IT technology trends
Strong knowledge of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) or Business Analyst Body of Knowledge (BABOK)
Experience working within systems development lifecycle methodology (SDLC)
Additional qualifications considered an asset:
Previous experience with an ERP implementation
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Experience using Cognos Business Intelligence, Query Studio and Report Studio
Strong technology background
