As Managing Consultant working with the Strategy and Transformation team in the Financial Services (FS) sector, you will develop innovative solutions to resolve our clients' most vital business and technical issues across the Financial Markets.
As a Managing Consultant or Senior Consultant, you will lead or contribute to the delivery of financial or risk management project work streams or work products, participating in the requirements gathering, analysis and design, and delivery of the final business & technology solution, working with IT technical teams. You will be responsible to present deliverables, facilitate working sessions, and lead the client teams through various stages of transformational change projects. The appropriate candidates will have previous consulting experience and preferably experience in risk management and/or accounting functions, especially in the banking, financial markets or insurance industry.
The candidates will independently perform and lead work with the client teams, and will assist IBM GBS project leaders to successfully accomplish the project / program goals. The role requires proven ability to establish trust and strong relationships with clients’ project leads. You will also advise IBM GBS leadership of key project risks, and opportunities where we can further deepen our involvement and drive value for clients.
Knowledge & Skills Required:
Candidates will need to demonstrate experience/expertise in one or more of the following key areas:
Experience within Financial Services, Risk Management and Compliance.
Working knowledge of Financial Risk Management (e.g. Credit Risk, Market Risk, Liquidity Risk, Asset & Liability Management)
Experience of implementing to meet Financial Services related regulations (e.g. Basel II IRB approaches, ICAAP / Economic Capital, CDIC, Solvency II, Stress Testing etc.)
Enterprise Risk Management concepts and Operational Risk Management
Experience of Financial Process improvements and implementation of ERP/GL systems implementations
Understanding of current regulatory requirements (e.g. IFRS) and various types of Financial Reporting (statutory, regulatory, management reporting)
Enterprise Performance Management concepts (e.g. Budgeting, Planning & Forecasting Processes, Performance Indicators, Scorecards & Dashboards) and associated industry leading tools (e.g. Cognos, Hyperion)
Functional and/or technical knowledge of processes, systems and methods for the relevant service areas as above
Strong written and oral communication skills. Experience of business writing and generating solid project deliverables
Excellent client relationship skills at the project team leads level, demonstrated effective teamwork, and a track record of consistently exceeding aggressive goals
