Responsibilities
Understand and adhere to the client’s safety management system, policies, procedures and values.
Responsible for all aspects of the estimate, e.g. establish the estimating scope of work, prepare estimate methodology and basis of estimate as well as produce the overall estimate schedule identifying all deliverables and interfaces with other disciplines
Interfaces with customers and contractors during pre and post-tender applications to develop effective business relationships
Provides assistance to project managers and field personnel. Involved in working with a senior person on site investigations, take-offs, budgets and cost control, evaluating sub-trade quotations and working on tenders
Coordinate and monitor input from process engineering, discipline lead engineers, procurement, contracts, and construction to ensure a timely completion
Establish the key parameters associated with the overall quality and accuracy of the estimate such as: equipment and material pricing guidelines, material take-off and other allowances, escalation philosophy, and site labor productivity factors
Assemble final estimate packages; conduct detailed analysis of completed estimates including benchmarking against similar completed projects and reconciliation of completed estimate to prior estimates
Produce comprehensive estimate review packages for project, department, corporate, and client reviews
Conducts cost analysis during and at completion of project
Requirements
Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of estimating experience in pipe fabricating along with experience in contractors in Oil & Gas, or Refining industries
Field experience is a definite asset
Proficiency in the full range of Microsoft Office Professional products, and data base applications
Must have knowledge in isometric drawings and blueprints
Ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership skills, people skills, and mentoring skills
