YMCA Calgary operates 8 Kids' Club Programs for children aged 6-12 years which are located in schools throughout Calgary. YMCA Kids' Club is a recreation and leadership program that operates from the end of the school day until 5:30 pm
The P/T Program Coordinator provides leadership to the program and ensures, through both direct program delivery and use of planning time, that the Kids' Club program offers safe, fun, and supportive afterschool activities to participants. The program operates regular school days throughout the school year and is closed during school holiday periods.
Qualifications:
Cleared Security Clearance, including a Vulnerable Sector Search
Current First Aid and CPR C
Experience working with children/youth
Exceptional customer service attitude
Resourceful, flexible and organized
Strong communication skills and ability to interact positively with others
Computer competencies (MS Word & Excel, Email and Internet)
Post secondary education in a child related field is desirable
Responsibilities:
Identify and create opportunities to enhance each and every person's YMCA experience
Ensure the well-being and safety of the children in the program
Provide diverse, age appropriate programs based on the curriculum outline
Develop and maintain smooth, cooperative working relations with staff and participants to achieve optimal collective results
Complete required administrative tasks in adherence to deadlines
Provide leadership to the site staff team through training and ongoing supervision
Share responsibility for the maintenance and upkeep of the program with the site staff team and senior department staff as per both YMCA and school standards
Attend trainings and staff meetings as scheduled
