Our client has been recognized as a leader in their industry for over 30 years. They expanded their capabilities with the opening of a new Service Centre in Dartmouth, NS three years ago. The Service Center is focused on the repair and overhaul of electronic and mechanical components for the aerospace industry. Their customer base includes police, militaries and commercial helicopter operators from around the world. They are seeking an individual to join their management team in the role of Production Manager in their service centre.

Reporting to the Manager of Operations you will be responsible for planning, implementing and controlling production activities on both the Avionics and Mechanical MRO lines. The Production Manager, working with a staff of approximately twenty technical specialists, will be responsible for the management of all production resources required to meet targets and schedules and for communication with clients, customers and company management to keep them abreast of production activities.

Responsibilities include:
Effective management of all production activities and production staff

Plan, implement and monitor production activities to meet revenue targets

Prepare service estimates and forward to Product Support for communication with customers

Ensure complete compliance to prescribed ISO Quality Program, Transport Canada AMO, and DND TAM Accredited processes and procedures

Monitor production schedules, and make recommendations concerning inventory and staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments

Having obtained an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Diploma or equivalent education, you have a 10–15 years progressive experience in a similar role and experience managing production in an MRO facility would be preferred. You have knowledge of the aerospace and defence industry, including a working knowledge of the DND TAM program, Transport Canada Regulations, ITAR, and Controlled Goods.

In addition to your technical knowledge, you have natural leadership skills, exceptional organizational/scheduling skills, and a desire to be part of a company that is poised for continued growth.
