Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Structural design and analysis of bridges and other
transportation related structures
Management of single and multi-discipline structural
engineering projects and development of cost-effective
design solutions
Preparation of proposals, design criteria, preliminary
designs, detailed engineering specifications, and
reports
Technical guidance and mentoring of project team members
including other engineers, and technical support staff
Liaison with clients, government and regulatory
authorities, and contractors
Development and enhancement of client relationships and
business growth.

Requirements:
A minimum of ten years’ relevant structural design
experience, with proven experience in the area of
structural design and bridge engineering with a
recognized consulting engineering firm.
Strong communication, report writing, organization,
analytical and interpersonal skills
Familiarity with relevant structural engineering codes
and industry standards
Superior technical understanding and design abilities.
Specific areas of expertise required are in the design
of bridges of standard and complex geometry, and
culverts. A thorough knowledge of current design codes
and standards is essential. Experience with bridge
condition surveys and construction phase structural
liaison would be an asset.
Working knowledge of computer modeling techniques using
SFRAME, STAAD, CANBAS (or similar software), and
familiarity with current AutoCAD and building systems
software
Familiarity with computer programs for structural
analysis and design would be a requirement
Must possess a university degree in Civil or Structural
engineering and be licensed to practice as a
professional engineer in the province of residence
