Reporting to the VAS Engineering & Operations Manager the VAS Planner/Engineer will be responsible for planning and engineering EastLink Value Added Services (VAS, SMSC, MMSC, VM, LBS) and Support Systems nodes (OTA, BGW) for our newly developing wireless network. You will design the VAS architecture, dimensioning and all interconnections between platforms and ensure all required functionalities are covered. You will evaluate network and cost impacts of potential new service offerings, as well as work to integrate and commission the VAS nodes, manage their life cycle and plan appropriate software upgrades and hardware replacements.
The ideal candidate is an analytical, technical and business minded individual with the attention to detail and organization skills required to effectively balance multiple and changing priorities within a fluid work environment.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or equivalent.
- Previous experience with wireless access networks with an in-depth understanding of data architecture to support VAS end to end.
- Strong understanding of cellular network traffic analysis.
- Familiarity with signaling flows for relevant VAS (MMS, SMS etc).
- Solid understanding of wireless core network architecture.
- Understanding of IP related translations.
- Proficiency in the MS Office Suite.
