Dow Canada has an exciting opportunity for a Civil Engineer to join our company! The successful candidate would be part of our Engineering Solutions group at Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. The primary function of this group is to work on design and improvement projects of current and yet to be developed petrochemical production facilities at Dow's Alberta sites.
Responsibilities and activities include:
Overall responsibility for the Civil/Structural Engineering and Detail Design effort
Assist with the Scope development during Project Definition Phase
Develop, monitor and manage Civil Work hour estimates
Monitor and report progress against planned project work
Develop/monitor and manage the Civil Engineering and Designer resources on individual projects
Provide overall responsibility for Code compliance
Support Civil construction activities with clarifications and/or technical support
Support the Civil Discipline Work Group by assisting/leading efforts to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the overall work group
Work within the global discipline technical network to ensure standards and specifications are kept up to date
Work on global teams with colleagues around the world and in different locations

Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering is required.
Eligible for registration with APEGGA.
Minimum 5 years of relevant Civil/Structural design engineering and project lead experience on capital projects.
Valid Canadian work permit required.
Strong Team Leadership capabilities.
Ability to work with a wide variety of detail design leads, including other detail design disciplines and personnel from diverse cultures.
Strong interpersonal relationship and time-management skills.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Proficient use of civil engineering design tools.
